PS3 Launch Date Still Set for Spring 2006
According to PS3Portal.com, the Playstatition 3 is still on track to launch in 2006. Or at least Sony says it’s working hard to make it so. As far as we know, Spring 2006 is still the target. Whether this is a Japan-only or a combined Japan and US launch is still unknown. My guess is they don’t have enough time to get it ready for the US as well. Guess we’ll see.
It’s expected that Sony will give us a more official update on their progress at the upcoming Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in January.

I think the PS3 will be a big wannabe Xbox 360. They just pushed back the release so they could copy whatever Microsoft comes up with. Hard Drive? Sony copied it. Xbox Live? The copied it. I have a 360 myself, and have had an amazing experience with it. Sony just never could bring that, unless you only buy the console for Final Fantasy, which i think sucks. Like i said before, Sony is just tryin to copy every move Microsoft makes. I don’t like Sony anymore, cuz the quality of their products has gone way down… unlike gas prices.

I wish it comes out in Spring cause it will be murder to get it in november before Christmas and also there is a few sites that claim they will have a great amount on its launch date sites like these which also gives out free ipods and etc… I got a black 30g video in a month and a few days crazy I hop to try it when the ps3 comes out

just wanted to clear things up before I spent $100 extra dollars getting the 60GB model:
1) As the 20GB model does not come with HDMI input, does that mean that you can still have High Defenition gaming (with use of a cable - i.e. DVI-to-HDMI) or not?
2) Sony have stated that the hard drive in the PS3s can be upgraded, is there a limit to 60GB (i.e. the 60GB PS3 cannot be upgraded) or can we buy a 250GB and put that in there?
3) Is there any images showing boxart of any games?

wii is much better and cheaper than the ps3
there is only one thing that the ps3 cares about and that is graphics. SHIT. the wii has gameplay that will bring people who usually never go near consoles to pik up a controller and play. the new controllers are inovative and new that is why the wii is better than the 360 and ps3(laminator)

TBH i have read multiple reviews of all latest \’next-gen\’ consoles such as the xbox 360, ps3 and wii,and i have to say………….XBOX 360 IS IMMENSE with ultimate graphics,gameplay and sufficient 20GB memory, in my opinion you only need 60 GB if you are super-glued to ya leather chairs with no life\’, xbox live - online gaming couldnt exceed itself anymore. P

First of all, the Playstation 3, both 20GB and 60GB units come with HDMI, 60GB can come in handy for storing Movies, music, photos and much more, (also PLAYSTATIONNetwork downloads), and the only innovative thing on the PS3 is the XMB(Xross Media Bar, also found on the PSP) the remote play, the direct memory stick inputs (60GB) and the 1080p HD-graphics, and…that\’s it. The XBOX 360, although awesome, isn\’t the best system you can buy. At a reasonable price of $399 compared to PS3\’s $599 It\’s alot more for the price. Almost just as good graphics at 1080i HD (Component), good features, and the most comfortable controller. Not the most innovative though. The PS3 controller, somewhat similar to the Wii\’s controller with the SIXAXIS movement system (Used to steer Jeep\’s in CoD3,don\’t know what it does in other games), but not exactly the same as the Wii\’s Revolutionary motion-sensing controller. What Nintendo is doing is actually very smart. Don\’t go for things that are now becoming normal for counsels and go for something different to create a entireley new gameplay. PS3\’s and 360\’s gameplay almost seem exatly the same, but Wii\’s innovative controller makes something entirley new, while keeping the price low so more people can actually afford to buy it and shipping about 1 Million at launch and 2 miilion by the end of 2006, so the low price can make them more money. And geuss what… they are still in high demand, (which is the goal of Sony and only shipping 400,000 at launch), with 1 Million systems floating around. So in conclusion thw Wii\’s creator Nintendo is the smartest, creating something entirely new, while Sony and Microsft are going for the basics. oh yeah and Wii SUX ASS up there in the comments, Wii is the smallest of any of the counsels and it looks good and the name, it was chosen for the other people in other countries because the word Wii is easy to pronounce in any language, as i remind you that Nintendo is not based in america but in Japan and it is shipped to other countries. so my opinion. YOU SUCK ASS!
